Club HEIMAT as a Stage for Sexual Well-Being: An Evening with Emily Morse and LELO

VENUS

LELO and the leading sexual educators in the industry gathered for an event at the Health Club HEIMAT in Los Angeles to discuss nothing less than the well-being of our sexuality. Notable contributions came from Emily Morse, Chris Donaghue, and Nadège Collot. Morse, host of the popular podcast “Sex with Emily,” emphasized, “Sexual well-being is of great importance to women because sexual health is health and an essential component of our overall well-being.”

The notion that sex is taboo not only proves to be false but also significantly restricts women due to limited sexual education and lack of access to care services. The current environment provides enough evidence of this: For example, the overturning of the Roe v. Wade decision and the restricted access to abortions. Another example, which is close to LELO, is the stigmatization of sensuality, such as the banning of its first beauty advertisement, or the shadowbanning and deplatforming of educators focused on vaginal health on social media.

As a result, many women are unaware of the benefits of sexual health. Morse added, “Sexual well-being contributes to increased self-esteem, can reduce depression and anxiety, boost libido, and it’s just important to eliminate any kind of shame associated with sex.”

These issues are more relevant than ever. In times of societal setbacks and digital censorship, we must advocate for our right to bodily autonomy and sexual well-being more than ever. Morse, Donaghue, and Collot show us that education and openness are the path to a bolder and healthier life.
