In March 2021, a second entity was added: Emory Andrew Tate and Sons SRL, based in Voluntari, Ilfov County, registered for the same business activity and named after the brothers’ father, chess master Emory Tate.<\/p>\n

Both companies were subject to an asset seizure<\/strong> by Romania’s DIICOT<\/strong> organized crime prosecution service after the brothers were arrested in Romania in late 2022 during human trafficking investigations<\/strong>. They have remained in Romania since, where the investigations continue.<\/p>\n

Joseph McBride, an attorney for the brothers, affirmed their innocence and described the new charges as a “politically motivated attack.” He claimed the charges were filed to counter a defamation lawsuit the brothers had brought in the United States. McBride expressed confidence that both men would be cleared once a court examined the facts and rejected the notion that US authorities were acting at London’s behest.<\/p>\n

Andrew Tate himself has also publicly detailed his perspective. In a three-hour-plus conversation on the Jack Neel Podcast, he argued that the proceedings in Romania and the UK are politically motivated; that governments, media, and non-governmental organizations<\/strong> have coordinated to silence him due to his reach; and that elements of the Romanian and British justice systems are corrupt. He described his arrest and detention in Romania, maintains that the evidence against him is insufficient, and framed his experiences around themes of resilience, masculinity, family, and legacy. These remain his personal assertions and allegations: they are disputed, unproven in court, and several of the proceedings he references are ongoing.<\/p>\n

The Other Side<\/h2>\n

Attorneys for alleged victims view the developments differently. Matt Jury<\/strong>, who represents several British women who have accused Andrew Tate, welcomed the charging decision. He pointed to the seriousness of the allegations, including multiple counts of rape and human trafficking, and called for the brothers to answer to them in court.<\/p>\n
