Understandably, this statement has caused significant ripples and raises a central question: Could the porn industry end if Trump wins on November 5th?<\/p>\n<p>A well-known quote from J.D. Vance states: <strong>\u201cI think the combination of pornography and abortion has basically created a really lonely, isolated generation that isn\u2019t getting married, they\u2019re not having families, and they\u2019re actually not even totally sure how to interact with each other.\u201d<\/strong> Vance goes so far as to name pornography as one of the core elements that has led to the <strong>\u201cmoral decay\u201d<\/strong> of society. These radical views are not only a direct attack on the porn industry but also shake the foundation of free speech and personal freedom.<\/p>\n<p>Should Trump actually return to the White House and bring Vance along as his Vice President, we could witness a flood of conservative legislative initiatives aiming to regulate or even ban the porn industry. This would be an unprecedented step with far-reaching implications for numerous sectors, from the digital economy to the cultural industry.<\/p>\n<p>Imagine that a future government under Trump and Vance passes a law that strictly prohibits the distribution and consumption of pornographic material. This would undoubtedly lead to a massive economic cut, similar to the Prohibition Act of the 1920s. Dealers and producers would be pushed into the underground, illegal markets would boom, and the tax revenues currently flowing from this industry would dry up.<\/p>\n<p>But the question remains: <strong>Is such a project at all realistic?<\/strong> In a modern society where the internet and digital communication are ubiquitous, it could be nearly impossible to completely block access to pornographic material. Technical means, such as VPNs and encrypted networks, allow users, even in countries with strict internet censorship, to access such content. Therefore, a complete ban could be more symbolic in nature and unintentionally usher in a new era of internet crime.<\/p>\n<p>On a societal level, such a step could also create deep rifts. The discussion about pornography is not new, but it often goes hand in hand with debates about freedom of speech and individual rights. A ban could be perceived as authoritarian and further undermine social cohesion. The porn industry, as controversial as it may be, is a reflection of societal norms and taboos \u2013 its complete abolition would be equivalent to trying to suppress deeply rooted cultural phenomena.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s remember John Zmirak&#8217;s words: <strong>&#8220;It is a sober, unfalsified vote count of what our citizens think about life in our country.&#8221;<\/strong> The introduction of a pornography ban could therefore say less about the content itself and more about the self-image and future direction of a nation.<\/p>\n<p>So, we can only wait and see whether these election promises will become reality or, as so often, sink into the swamp of political promises.
