Users will share their electronic ID (DNI), or the government will do the legwork by checking administrative databases. Verified users then get a QR code proving they’re legally old enough to view the dirty stuff.<\/p>\n
For added security, each month, users get a bundle of 30 credentials. Each credential is valid three times per platform, making it difficult to trace anyone’s porn habits. Carmen Cabanillas, Director General of Governance at the Digital Transformation Ministry, mentioned creating a “blacklist” of adult sites with the help of the National Cybersecurity Institute (Incibe).<\/p>\n
Globally, the quest to restrict minors’ access to adult content is ongoing. US states’ efforts to enforce age verification laws have seen platforms like PornHub withdraw services citing privacy issues, potentially driving traffic to less regulated sites. France and the UK are experimenting with intermediary vetting systems and even biometric age estimation, raising major privacy concerns.<\/p>\n
