Berlin, June 2020. xHamster opened its website for activists, artists, DJs and sex workers from Friday, June 26 to Sunday, June 28. With a three-day fundraising campaign for charities for transsexuals and sex workers, Germany’s largest adult portal successfully tried to give something back to its own community.
Announcing the event Alex Hawkins, Vice President at xHamster said: »This weekend we are offering special 15-30 minute slots for activists, artists, sex workers and LGBTQ+ content creators, which we will present to our users. All shows will be broadcast in top slots on xHamsterLive and by our pride partner Stripchat and of course all of them will be promoted on social media channels.«
Free Yourself for xHamster Pride
For all participants this was a chance to build their online fan base, raise awareness and generate money for the cause. The funds raised through online activism will be transferred to the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, the Sex Workers Outreach Project and Rainbow Railroad along with additional donations from xHamster.
»Whether it’s a live cam or a DJ set, we’re just asking that we find a way to make it a Pride theme,« said Hawkins.
