One of the leading providers of digital payment processing now offers support to the Free Speech Coalition (FSC). Segpay will provide free consulting, payment processing and regulatory expertise to the influential lobby for the US adult industry.
While many countries are currently making massive efforts to curb adult entertainment online and to partly block it through various censorship efforts, one of the industry’s most important payment processors is starting to support an increasingly vocal advocacy group: the Free Speech Coalition.
The US industry association is always engaged in public debates when the rights of sex workers, performers, producers and other members of the adult community are threatened. The passing of the controversial SESTA/FOSTA bill, the conservative dominance on the Supreme Court, and censorship efforts on the part of social media companies are once again pushing the issues of eroticism, pornography, and free sexual autonomy out of the limelight after years of liberalization and progressive elimination of taboo subjects. The FSC is one of the central dissenting voices.
Segpay’s CEO, Cathy Beardsley, underlines the role of the FSC in the fight against reactionary and regressive efforts that are gaining momentum under the government of Donald J. Trump. There is a sense of panic about this. She says: »Free Speech Coalition is on the front lines, not only lobbying, but also providing resources that protect the health and safety of adult industry workers. FSC is often the only resource that many of these workers have, and we are glad to do our small part in helping FSC promote its cause and increase membership so it can expand the important service it provides.«
She adds: »Working closely with FSC’s dedicated team of industry professionals really opened our eyes to the organization’s important mission. We are happy to provide our services to help support this cause.«
