The legendary bunny company Playboy Enterprises Inc. has announced that it is currently working on a solution to accept cryptocurrencies on all platforms operated by the group.
The custom-developed Wallet solution for cryptocurrencies will be implemented first on Playboy.TV. Customers will then be able to pay with cryptocurrencies. Simultaneously, the new industry currency Vice Industry Token will be implemented as well.
The industry’s own cryptocurrency, Vice Industry Token, is based on a decentralized blockchain platform that will pay viewers to view content with so-called Vice Industry Tokens. The new currency was unveiled earlier this year and has just completed the Initial Coin Offering (ICO).
Playboy’s COO, Reena Patel, said in an interview: »As the popularity of alternative payment methods continues to grow around the world, along with the reach Playboy’s digital platforms, we felt it was important to give our 100 million monthly consumers increased payment flexibility.«
The new digital wallet is scheduled to be launched later this year. Playboy is also betting on the Vice Industry Token. Patel adds: »This innovation gives the millions of people who enjoy our content, as well as those in the future who participate in our casual gaming, AR and VR platforms, more choices with regard to payment and in the case of VIT, an opportunity to be rewarded for engaging with Playboy offerings.«
