The well-known and globally successful porn producer and director Axel Braun, head of Wicked Pictures, has announced that he is ending his active career in the industry. This marks the retirement of one of the most successful figures in the popular genre of porn parody.
As AVN announces in a major portrait of the work of the legendary director and producer, Axel Braun will retire from the industry and terminate his work as head of Wicked. After more than 500 productions, countless awards and years of work for Vivid, the move ends a decade-long career that began in the early ’90s.
Braun has made a name for himself in particular with porn parodies, often providing globally blockbuster franchises with a porn adaptation for fans and general audiences alike. As the mastermind behind the most successful and highest-grossing title of 2010, “Batman XXX: A Porn Parody,” Braun solidified his position as one of the industry’s most innovative and influential directors. This success paved the way for Vivid Entertainment’s »Vivid Superhero« series, which Braun oversaw as executive director.
In 2013, Braun opened a new chapter in his career by signing an exclusive contract as director with Wicked Pictures. As part of this partnership, he launched two different series, »Wicked Fairy Tales« and »Wicked Comix«, dedicated exclusively to fairy tale and comic book parodies. The success of these series cemented Braun’s reputation in the industry further.
Throughout his career, Braun has received numerous industry awards and recognitions for his exceptional achievements. He established his status as an industry icon with his induction into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2011 and the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2014. Braun’s unprecedented success is also reflected in the fact that he has won the AVN Award for Best Parody ten consecutive times and has been named AVN Director of the Year four times in a row.
