A boarding school teacher at Aldenham Boarding School was caught consuming porn in class – twice! He got fired in September 2016 and found guilty in May by a panel from the National College of Teaching and Leadership in Coventry. As a result, he is now banned from teaching for at least 2 years.
Paul S., 51, was a teacher at the prestigious Aldenham School based in Elstree from 1995 to 2016. Many famous British celebrities visited the school which costs £10.000 a term.
Already in 2007 Paul S., 51, had gotten a written warning for his porn consumption on school computers. He also had a history of clashing with the law as he was caught during an assault in a shop in 2013.
Paul S. was apparently known for being difficult with his students as well. Last June he clashed with one of the kids at his school. He went to a group of students listening to music and threatened to cut up their headphones. During the incident, he apparently used foul language. He then took the headphones and tried to cut them up. A kid trying to prevent this from happening got pushed aside.
The school acted relatively patient but in 2014 the teacher was caught viewing porn during class again. Nevertheless, it took the board quite some time to decide it was time for him to go. The teacher was fired in September 2016.
During the employment tribunal, he admitted to his wrongdoing and apologized. The panel said that the teacher’s conduct »fell significantly short of expected standards« and banned him from teaching indefinitely. After two years though, Paul S. could be able to teach again if he successfully appeals the ban and can convince a panel to declare him fit to teach.
