As a tribute to the groundbreaking porn flick that revolutionised the industry, Gerard Damiano Jr. and Christar Damiano, son and daughter of famed filmmaker Gerard Damiano Sr. are embarking on the »Deep Throat 50th Anniversary Tour«. Film screenings of restored versions as well as panel discussions and parties are planned at several locations.
Starting with a series of select screenings and thought-provoking discussions at the University of Santa Barbara, the tour will focus on the intersection of pornography, film and popular culture. This interactive experience highlights the enduring cultural significance of »Deep Throat« and its profound impact on the adult industry.
Participants will have the rare opportunity to take part in a discourse led by Professor Constance Penley’s students, joined by such iconic porn stars of the so-called Golden Era of pornography, Annie Sprinkle and Richard Pacheco.
Gerard and Christar Damiano have taken great care in the restoration of “Deep Throat” and present a stunning 4K version of their father’s masterpiece.
The »Deep Throat 50th Anniversary Tour« will take place at various locations in California, including Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Santa Ana and Oakland. Guests in conversation will include Sharon Mitchell, Dr. Susan Block and Carol Queen, founder of the Center of Sex and Culture.
In addition to the screenings, ’70s-style dancing parties will be hosted and attendants will be immersed in an atmosphere of nostalgia and creativity, with an invitation to dress in a style known as »porn chic.«
