After Clio, a producer of hygiene articles, could announce the success of its sextoy line plusOne at WalMart, another retail giant, Target, is now taking the company’s products to its shelves.
The eighth-largest retailer in the USA is adding the Clio Group’s Sextoy collection to its assortment in over 1,800 stores. As with WalMart, plusOne products are available in Target’s online shop too. Clio is betting heavily on the idea that a low-priced product line to turn sex toys into an everyday product. They think sex toys should be as readily available in supermarkets and drugstores as condoms and q-tips.
Sex toys as everyday items
This sets the company apart from many other competitors. Most manufacturers see the main potential for growth in the sextoy market in the areas of product diversification, innovation, and technology. The collection therefore includes more traditional sex toys like vibrators, bullets, massagers and vibrating cock rings. And the products are all in a very affordable price segment.
Stephanie Trachtenberg, a spokeswoman for plusOne, comments on the company’s broad strategy: »People shouldn’t have to venture to a special sex shop to purchase a vibrator. It’s 2019 and Americans are focused on self-care and self-love now more than ever. Whether it’s for pleasure or wellness, certainly women deserve convenient access to high quality, affordable sexual wellness devices like ours so they can own their sexuality. We’re thrilled that Target has chosen plusOne to help bring quality sexual wellness products to its customers.«
Small line, low prices, big sales
Like WalMart before it, Target also offers the products not only in its stores but also in the company’s online shop. plusOne’s collection currently consists of a bullet vibrator for about 16 dollars, a penis ring for about 20 dollars and a massager for about 30 dollars.
