Clio Reports: Sex Toys At WalMart Are Successful

While the US sex-tech fair CES is embarrassing itself with its anti-sex toy attitude, other conservative heavyweights are breaking new ground. US retail giant WalMart has successfully added Clio’s sex toy line to its range a few months ago.

Since October, Clio, the manufacturer of personal hygiene products, has been delighted with a deal that has generated strong sales. The largest supermarket chain in the USA has decided to include the company’s sex toy collection in its stores. The plusOne brand is cheaply priced, but the company claims that it is not cutting back on quality. The inclusion in the assortment of the globally operating WalMart Group will give plusOne immense visibility; after all, the retail giant has almost 12,000 stores and employs over 1.5 million people in the USA alone.

The collection so far consists of a simple vibrator, a Rabbit-style dual-zone massage stick, a cock ring and a personal massager. The products in the line are waterproof and made of medical grade silicone. The toys can be charged via USB cable and offer 10 different vibration levels.

Jamie Leventhal of plusOne comments on the success of the new Clio brand:  »The concept of selling quality sexual wellness devices on the shelves of major, mainstream retailers has been a long time coming, and we are proud to be leading the charge. Major retailers like Walmart and Amazon set the range back in October (2018), and we’re still ramping up our distribution and availability at several additional major retailers, so keep a look out for us.«

He adds: »The strategic retail plan for plusOne was to make sexual wellness tasteful, mainstream and accessible to all consumers, addressing the growing demand for such by both women and men. With major big-box retailers carrying the range and offering an in-store, self-checkout option — buying quality sexual wellness products has also never been easier or more private.«

The success proves the company right. The collection has only been on the market since the beginning of October and, according to Clio, more than 250,000 pieces have already been sold. It is therefore hardly surprising that Clio will launch further products under the brand name plusOne in the second quarter of 2019.
