Michael Avenatti, Stormy Daniels’ famous lawyer and wannabe-politician was arrested in Los Angeles. The 47-year-old was charged for domestic violence offenses. By now the feisty lawyer published several denials on Twitter.
Michael Avenatti has been in the spotlight seemingly every day for the better part of the last 12 months. He was Stormy Daniels lawyer in several cases concerning the alleged affair of the porn star with the US President Donald J. Trump.
He also played a crucial role during the Kavanaugh hearings for the vacant supreme court seat. A female client of his alleged that the president’s candidate for the seat, the ultra-conservative Justice Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her a few decades ago.
While fighting for his clients Avenatti’s gift for political fights was on full display. He run the media circus for months and produced headline after headline for his clients and himself. He openly declared his interest to run for the presidency in 2020 and seems to be dead set on getting the current president impeached.
Now Michael Avenatti was arrested. Before his arrest, a woman alleged Avenatti committed domestic violence against her. The lawyer was taken into custody in Los Angeles for allegedly leaving the woman’s face swollen and bruised. So far the name of the accuser is not publically known.
According to several news outlets, Avenatti told the officers arresting him: »She hit me first, This is bulls–t.«
Politicians from left and right commented on the high profile arrest immediately. An appearance at an event of the Democratic Party in Vermont has already been canceled. As many leading Democrats were not happy with Avenatti’s attempts to aggressively attack Trump with any means possible and Republicans understandably wish nothing less than Avenatti disappearing from the public eye, the feisty lawyer might now have many friends standing up for him now.
Avenatti by now went on Twitter responding to the allegations. He denies them completely and published statements by his former wife as well as by his current wife said to be the victim of the domestic abuse charge. Both women testify on his behalf.
In a first post, he wrote: »Thank you to everyone who has reached out with supportive messages and offers of assistance. It means the world to me. I have always been an advocate of women’s rights and equality & I always will be. I will not be intimidated into stopping my pursuit of justice and what is right«

His first wife also went on Twitter and published the following statement: »I have known @MichaelAvenatti for over 26 years we met when he was 21 years old and we were married for 13 years. Michael has ALWAYS been a kind loving father to our two daughters and husband to me. He has NEVER been abusive to me or anyone else. He is a good man.«

To make things completely bizarre there is also a statement by Avenatti’s current wife. The two live separated from each other. According to news articles, Lisa-Storie Avenatti was said to be the woman alleging the domestic abuse offense claiming to be injured by Avenatti. She vehemently denies this through her lawyer. CNN reporter MJ Lee was able to talk to her. Lee quotes her the following way: »I haven’t seen Michael in months. It’s a complete fabrication. Bruises on my face? It is insanity. He wouldn’t hit anybody. Especially a woman. He’s got two daughters.«
