We-Vibe Lawyering Up Against 13 Competitors

Apparently, there are legal repercussions to this year’s Asia Adult Expo The company producing the We-Vibe stopped short of suing several competitors seemingly preparing a larger lawsuit and flexing its muscles in Asia by lawyering up. 13 exhibitors at the Asia Adult Expo got a notification issued by Standard Innovation informing them that they might be violating We-Vibe patents registered in Hong Kong.

Frank Ferrari, President of Standard Innovation commented on the action as follows: »In recent months, we have seen an increase in products on the market that potentially infringe our couples vibrator patent,” Ferrari said. “Manufacturers and retailers must be aware that we will go to significant means to protect our investment and pursue those who attempt manufacture, market or sell products that infringe our rights.«

Ferrari goes on highlighting the point that intellectual property is the backbone of his company hinting at possible lawsuits. »We are an innovation-focused company, and our most valuable asset is our intellectual property.«

The maker of the We-Vibe holds patents all over the world, including in E.U., the US., Canada, Australia, Mexico, China and Hong Kong. Standard Innovation hired Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. The law firm’s speciality is litigation and intellectual property.
