
As we reported before a court decided against Stormy Daniels in her defamation suit she brought against the president. Part of the court’s decision was that Stephanie Clifford would have to pay Trump’s legal bills. But after Charles Harder, Trump’s lawyer, tried to meet with Michael Avenatti, Stormy Daniel’s lawyer and the prospect of a 2020 run for the presidency, to discuss the payment he wasn’t able to get hold of Avenatti at all. Clifford’s lawyer claimed he was too busy and refused the terms suggested by the president’s lawyer.

Avenatti himself seems always in a combative mood. So in several statements, Avenatti said that the sum Trump’s lawyer wants to collect is a »number created out of whole cloth«. Avenatti still is boasting with confidence and likes to ridicule his opponents: »We now know that Trump believes in legalizing marijuana. This request is nothing compared to what he will owe my client.« And indeed there is another lawsuit in the balance and Avenatti and Stormy Daniels don’t seem to shy away from further confrontation.
Trump’s lawyer, on the other hand, is stating that the court battle in question did not have »any merit«, he is convinced that it was brought to court by Clifford »for the ulterior purposes of raising her media profile, engaging in political attacks against the president by herself and her attorney, who has appeared on more than 150 national television news interviews attacking the President and now is exploring a run for the presidency himself in 2020.«
As Stormy Daniels recently signed a contract with the strip club and sex store chain Déjà Vu and her book »Full Disclosure« is selling well, she might not be easily forced to back down. Either way, the saga continues …
